This is definitely comfort food! My kids and I love this sandwich. I love to eat it right out of the pan all hot and yummy! I love the texture of the crunchy peanut butter. The cinnamon sugar on the top makes all the difference! Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 3 - ripe bananas
  • 8 slices of bread, white, wheat, etc...
  • 3/4 cup of crunchy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • TOPPING
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

How To Make fried peanut butter and banana sandwich

  • Step 1
In a small bowl mix together peanut butter, honey and cinnamon. Slice bananas into 1/4 thick slices. Spread the peanut butter mixture on four slices of bread and cover with banana slices.
  • Step 2
In frying pan melt 2 tablespoons of butter - make sure butter does not burn. I cook mine in 2 batches so I divide the butter. The slice of bread that doesn't have the peanut butter mixture on it, I spread with margarine or spreadable butter and put the peanut butter and banana slice of bread, bread side down in the melted butter in the pan. Place the buttered slice of bread on top, butter side out.
  • Step 3
Grill sandwiches in frying pan until each side is golden brown.
  • Step 4
For topping, combine sugar cinnamon in shallow plate. Coat grilled sandwiches with mixture. Cut diagonally and serve hot.
