How to Make Fried Cornmeal Mush
- 1In a large heavy-bottomed saucepan bring the 3 cups of water and salt to a boil. Stir in the cornmeal and cup of cold water. Cook over hight heat and stir constantly to eliminate lumps. When mixture begins to thicken, decrease heat and cook 5 mins. longer.Pour hot mush int a buttered loaf pan. Let cool. Cover and refridgerate several hours. Invert pan and slide out loaf of mush. Slice. Sprinkle pieces with flour. Fry on each side until crispy and golden brown. Serve with butter and hot syrup.
