french toast is usally a weekend thing we do, for breakfast or late lunch optional, you can serve Fresh berries on top with powdered sugar, my hubby doesnt care for the cinnamon, sometimes we leave that out there are so many varities to this, but i like this one the best

Ingredients

  • 4 - eggs
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
  • 8 slices 2-day-old bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter, room temperature
  • 2 cups maple syrup

How To Make french toast

  • Step 1
    Beat eggs, milk, and cinnamon, and nutmeg together Whisk until well blended. Pour into a shallow bowl.Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing bread to soak up some of the mixture. Melt some butter (or use vegetable oil) over a large skillet on medium high heat. Add as many slices of bread onto the skillet as will fit at a time. Fry until brown on both sides, flipping the bread when necessary.Serve hot with butter, maple syrup, and if available, fresh berries. Serves 4.-6
