We had this french toast recipe for breakfast at one of the top resorts in Michigan. It is just yummy.

Ingredients

  • 16 slices cinnamon raisin bread
  • 4 - eggs
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 8 ounces soft cream cheese
  • 1 stick margarine for frying

How To Make fifth avenue french toast

  • Step 1
whip the 4 eggs, milk, and vanilla with a fork or a whisk until the egg mixture is frothy.
  • Step 2
Spread 1 oz of the softened cream cheese on a slice of the bread. Place another slice on top as though making a sandwich. Dip the french toast "sandwich" in the egg mixture, covering both sides with the egg mixture. Fry until golden brown on both sides. (I use stick margarine since it doesn't burn like butter.) Repeat with remaining bread and cream cheese. Serve with a sprinkle of powder sugar and fresh berries or warm maple syrup. Makes 4 servings.
