Ingredients

  • 2 cans diced tomatoes
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup stock (chicken or beef)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons pan drippings (sausage, bacon or ham)

How To Make easy tomato gravy

  • Step 1
    Heat tomatoes in iron skillet over medium heat.
  • Step 2
    Stir flour into stock and whisk until there are no lumps.
  • Step 3
    Stir flour/stock mixture into hot tomatoes, whisking as you stir.
  • Step 4
    Bring to a boil and stir until thickened.
  • Step 5
    Reduce heat to simmer.
  • Step 6
    Stir in salt, pepper and pan drippings.
  • Step 7
    Simmer for at least 5-10 minutes.
