This makes quite a bit. I always shared with friends if my boys didn't eat it all.

Ingredients

  • 15 cups old fashioned oatmeal (not quick oatmeal)
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 1/3 cups canola oil
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • - almonds, craisins, raisins, pecans

How To Make easy granola

  • Step 1
    Heat oven to 250*. Pour oatmeal into a very large bowl. Add brown sugar and mix it well. I use my hands to make sure it is all broken up and mixed well.
  • Step 2
    In another bowl mix oil, honey, salt, vanilla. Stir thoroughly.
  • Step 3
    Pour over oatmeal and brown sugar mixture and mix well. Then add whatever other ingredients you like. We like almonds, dried fruit and pecans.
  • Step 4
    I use two large sheet trays. Spray pans and pour oatmeal mixture into both. Bake for 15 minutes. You could bake it longer if you want it crunchier but we like it soft.
