I remember Grandma W. making these yummy treats for me when I would stay overnight with her. Especially when I stayed during the school week and she had to drive me 40 minutes away to go to school. It was a great treat while in the car. Okay, so great treat anytime!

- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 2 medium eggs
- 5 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 cup melted shortening
- 1 teaspoon vanilla

Step 1Combine sugar and eggs. Add cooled shortening. Add baking powder and vanilla with enough flour to make the dough stiff. Put on board, cut doughnuts with doughnut cutter. Cook in deep grease or oil until done. Drain. Frost.
