diy instant oatmeal
(1 RATING)
I found this on Pinterest. Very comparable to store bought prepackaged instant oatmeal. It makes a good size portion.

How To Make diy instant oatmeal
-
Step 1Combine all ingredients and place in snack size ziplock bag.
-
Step 2To prepare: Empty contents into microwavable bowl. Add 2/3 cup water. Microwave on high for 2 minutes. Add milk if desired.
-
Step 3NOTES: This is a very versatile recipe. You can customize this to each taste in your household. You are only limited by your own imagination. I added 2 chopped slices of dried apple. In the future, I plan to add craisins, raisins, nuts or dried blueberries. We have enjoyed this recipe for a couple of months now. I have taken the recipe one step further and prepared a larger batch to make it easier when trying to get out the door in the morning. Here is my version of a larger batch with some additions. We have also come to the conclusion that for us, the 1/3 C portion is too large so we use 1/4 C mix with 1/2 C water. Microwave for 2 minutes on high. Stir and add milk. Hope you enjoy. LG BATCH: 3 1/3 C. instant oatmeal 3 T. instant milk 1/4 tsp salt 6 T Brown sugar 6 T ground flax seed 2 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon diced dried apples to taste. For this size batch, I use 20 halves, diced.
