Ingredients

  • 2 - eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 6 slices texas toast or thickly sliced bread
  • 1 cup corn flake crumbs
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • CINNAMON SYRUP
  • 1 1/3 cups sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 5 ounces can evaporated milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2/3 cup white corn syrup

How To Make crumb-topped baked french toast

  • Step 1
    Combine eggs, milk, salt and vanilla; mix well.
  • Step 2
    Dip bread slices into egg mixture; coat both sides with crumbs.
  • Step 3
    Place on well-greased cookie sheet.
  • Step 4
    Drizzle melted butter over crumb coated bread.
  • Step 5
    Bake at 450 for 10 minutes.
  • Step 6
    To make syrup, combine sugar, water, corn syrup and cinnamon in saucepan.
  • Step 7
    Bring to boil; cook 2 minutes.
  • Step 8
    Remove from heat; add milk, flavoring and bacon or sausage as desired.
