    eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 c
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 6 slice
    texas toast or thickly sliced bread
  • 1 c
    corn flake crumbs
  • 1/4 c
    butter, melted

  • 1 1/3 c
  • 1/3 c
  • 1 tsp
  • 5 oz
    can evaporated milk
  • 1/2 tsp
    almond extract
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 2/3 c
    white corn syrup

How to Make Crumb-Topped Baked French Toast


  1. Combine eggs, milk, salt and vanilla; mix well.
  2. Dip bread slices into egg mixture; coat both sides with crumbs.
  3. Place on well-greased cookie sheet.
  4. Drizzle melted butter over crumb coated bread.
  5. Bake at 450 for 10 minutes.
  6. To make syrup, combine sugar, water, corn syrup and cinnamon in saucepan.
  7. Bring to boil; cook 2 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat; add milk, flavoring and bacon or sausage as desired.
