This scones are so moist and tender. Most scones I have tried are dry, you will really enjoy these and they are so easy to make.

How to Make Cranberry Orange Scones

Step-by-Step

  1. Sift together flour, sugar, salt and baking powder.
  2. Add grated orange peel and butter to sifted flour. Cut butter into the flour with two forks until well blended. Set aside.
  3. In small bowl, combine cranberries, orange juice, half and half, and the slightly beaten egg. Stir until blended.
  4. Add to dry ingredients, stir until soft dough forms. Do not over mix or it will toughen the scones.
  5. On lightly floured surface, gently knead dough 6 to 8 times. Form dough into 1" thick circle or rectangle shape. Cut into 8 pieces.
  6. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper. Brush tops of scones with either milk or half and half.
  7. Bake for 15 min only at 400 degree oven. As soon as you remove from oven, drizzle orange glaze over each scone.
