Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 7 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/3 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon orange peel, grated
- 1/3 cup cold butter, cubed
- 1 cup dried cranberries
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup half and half
- 1 - egg
- ORANGE GLAZE
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon orange juice
How To Make cranberry orange scones

Step 1Sift together flour, sugar, salt and baking powder.

Step 2Add grated orange peel and butter to sifted flour. Cut butter into the flour with two forks until well blended. Set aside.

Step 3In small bowl, combine cranberries, orange juice, half and half, and the slightly beaten egg. Stir until blended.

Step 4Add to dry ingredients, stir until soft dough forms. Do not over mix or it will toughen the scones.

Step 5On lightly floured surface, gently knead dough 6 to 8 times. Form dough into 1" thick circle or rectangle shape. Cut into 8 pieces.

Step 6Line cookie sheet with parchment paper. Brush tops of scones with either milk or half and half.

Step 7Bake for 15 min only at 400 degree oven. As soon as you remove from oven, drizzle orange glaze over each scone.
