How to Make Cornmeal Mush
- Stir cornmeal and salt into water in a saucepan over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil.
- Lower heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Pour into loaf pan and chill at least 4 hrs or overnight.
- Unmold and cut into 1/4 inch slices.
- Heat oil in skillet and fry slices until they are golden brown and have crispy edges. Flip to finish both sides.
- Cook time includes cooling time.
Can be served sweet with syrup or savory with ketchup!
