coffee cake for a crowd
I found this recipe in the newspaper about 50 years ago and have been making it all these years and it is still a favorite that friends, family and co workers asked for. Don’t let the steps fool you, it isn’t as hard as it sounds but I needed to explain it that way for the first time you make it. I am sure this will be a family favorite, not only does it taste great right out of the oven but the next day with a cup of coffee it is just as good.

I cbrown sugar, firmly packed

4 Tbspbutter, softened

4 tspcinnamon

4 Tbspflour
- TOPPING. SMALL BOWL
- DRY INGREDIENTS

3 cflour

3 tspbaking powder

1 tspsalt
- BATTER
-
2 stickbutter, room temperature

1 csugar
-
2 lgeggs
- LIQUID

1 cmilk
-
1 1/2 tspvanilla extract
How To Make coffee cake for a crowd

1Topping: mix with a pastry cutter Stir the flour, baking power and salt

2Cream the butter and sugar, add the eggs one at a time (Since this is batter mix with a spoon not a mixer)

3Add the vanilla to the milk. Add 1/3 of the flour mixture to the creamed, then pour half the milk/vanilla in and stir again, flour then milk and ending with the last of the flour. Don’t over stir.

4Spread half of the batter in a greased 9x13 then sprinkle half the topping then the rest of the batter and finish with the topping. Bake at 350’ for 25 to 30 minutes
