2With electric mixer, combine first five ingredients. Batter will be stiff.
3Put 1/2 batter into prepared baking pan and sprinkle with sugar mixture which will be the last 4 ingredients mixed together.Swirl. Repeat with sugar mixture on top.Bake at 350 for 50-55 minutes.
4Cake gets very brown before down but stays moist & wonderful if covered tightly. I baked this cake approximately 45 to 50 minutes. All ovens are different. When cooled, I wrapped the cake in foil and placed it in my glass cake dish. It also freezes well.
