  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 1/2 c
  • 2 Tbsp
    corn syrup
  • 12 slice
    bread, sandwich
  • 6 large
    eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 c
  • 1 tsp
  • 1/4 tsp

How to Make Caramel French Toast


  1. Combine sugar, butter and corn syrup in a small saucepan; cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
  2. Pour syrup mixture into a 13x9x2 inch baking dish.
  3. Place 6 slices of bread on top of syrup mixture.
  4. Top with remaining 6 slices of bread.
  5. Combine eggs, milk, vanilla and salt, stirring until blended.
  6. Pour egg mixture evenly over bread slices.
  7. Cover and chill 8 hours.
  8. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes or until lightly browned.
