This is the best crumb cake ever. I saw this in a magazine back in 1981. It's been a favorite ever since. I serve it warm with a little butter or cream cheese, and of course, a cup of coffee. Enjoy

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups graham crackers crumbs
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 3 - eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

How To Make cake just meant for coffee

  • Step 1
    Mix together flour,baking powder,soda and salt. Mix with crumbs; set aside.
  • Step 2
    In large bowl cream butter and sugars. Beat in eggs one at a time and vanilla; beat till fluffy.
  • Step 3
    And flour mixture to egg mixture alternately with buttermilk, beating just to blend. Stir in walnuts.
  • Step 4
    Spread in greased 9- inch square pan. Bake in preheated 350 oven for 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
