This is the best crumb cake ever. I saw this in a magazine back in 1981. It's been a favorite ever since. I serve it warm with a little butter or cream cheese, and of course, a cup of coffee. Enjoy

  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1 1/2 c
    graham crackers crumbs
  • 1/2 c
    butter or margarine, softened
  • 2/3 c
    granulated sugar
  • 2/3 c
    packed light brown sugar
  • 3
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 c
  • 1 c
    chopped walnuts

How to Make Cake Just Meant for Coffee


  1. Mix together flour,baking powder,soda and salt. Mix with crumbs; set aside.
  2. In large bowl cream butter and sugars. Beat in eggs one at a time and vanilla; beat till fluffy.
  3. And flour mixture to egg mixture alternately with buttermilk, beating just to blend. Stir in walnuts.
  4. Spread in greased 9- inch square pan. Bake in preheated 350 oven for 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
