This is delicious on waffles and pancakes. Also can be served over ice cream. I recently had this on pancakes at a friend's house and just loved it so I asked for the recipe. It also freezes well.

Ingredients

1 1/2 c
buttermilk
1 c
sugar
1 c
brown sugar
1/2 c
butter
1 tsp
baking soda
1 tsp
vanilla

Step-by-Step

  • 1In a large saucepan, bring buttermilk, sugars, and butter to a boil over medium heat. Remove from heat and whisk in soda and vanilla. It will bubble up a lot so be sure you use a large saucepan. As it cools, the bubbles will cease.
  • 2Pour over pancakes or waffles and enjoy!
