Ingredients
- 1 cup steel cut oats or rolled oats
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- water to cover
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar

Step 1Place the oatmeal in a bowl and add the lemon juice and water. Let sit overnight.

Step 2Drain the oatmeal and rinse with water.

Step 3Add the oatmeal to a pan with 2 cups of water. Add the salt and bring to a boil.
