Ingredients For best oatmeal

  • 1 c
    steel cut oats or rolled oats
  • 2 Tbsp
    lemon juice
  • water to cover
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground cardamom
  • 1/4 c
    milk
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar

How To Make best oatmeal

    Place the oatmeal in a bowl and add the lemon juice and water. Let sit overnight.

    Drain the oatmeal and rinse with water.

    Add the oatmeal to a pan with 2 cups of water. Add the salt and bring to a boil.

    Reduce to a simmer and stir in the cinnamon, ginger, and cardamom.

    Cook for 10 minutes stirring occasionally until the water is absorbed, and the oatmeal is creamy. Stir in the milk, butter, and brown sugar.
