Another great find in an old recipe book, delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 - egg yolks, beaten (reserve whites)
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup shortening, melted and cooled
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted and cooled
  • 3 - egg whites, stiffly beaten

How To Make belgian waffles

  • Step 1
    Whisk dry ingredients together. Combine egg yolks, sour cream and buttermilk, and add to dry ingredients alternately with cooled shortening and butter.
  • Step 2
    Stir gently until no longer lumpy. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Cook in waffle iron.
