Once you've tried this pie,you will make it all the time. It is so easy to make . There are other pies out there that are similar but the Gruyere cheese gives it a rich taste.

How to Make Bacon onion and cheese pie

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Fry bacon, remove and pat with paper towels and leave fat in the pan.
  2. Add onions to the pan and brown. Sprinkle with salt. Once they are browned , let them cool.
  3. Mix ricotta, egg yolk and Gruyere in a separate dish. Spread into the pie shell. Scrap onions on top of that, ( even the little brown bits) than shake Parmesan on top. Sprinkle with pepper.
  4. Spread bacon evenly on top of that and bake until the pie shell has baked, approx. 30 - 40 minutes depending on your oven. ( when the pie shell has baked a golden brown, that's when I take it out)
  5. Enjoy all the raves!!
