- 2 slices bacon
- 1 small shallot diced
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 cups water
- 2 large eggs
- 3 ounces grated cheddar cheese
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 scallions chopped
- oil for frying eggs
How To Make bacon cheddar savory oatmeal with fried egg

Step 1Chop the bacon and add to a hot skillet and cook until crisp. Remove with slotted spoon to a papertowel to drain. Add the shallot to the bacon grease and saute 1 minute. Add the oatmeal to the pan and stir them around for 15 seconds. Add the water, salt and pepper and simmer on low heat 8 until 10 minutes

Step 2Fry the eggs over easy in the oil. Place the oatmeal in 2 serving bowls. Top with cheese, Fried egg, bacon pieces and scallions.
