Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 8 tablespoons butter, melted and cooled
- 1/4 cup apple cider
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
How To Make applesauce snack cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Step 2Make aluminum foil sling for 8" square pan. Spray lightly with vegetable oil spray.

Step 3Whisk sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Transfer 2 tablespoons to small bowl to reserve for sprinkling.

Step 4Combine applesauce, melted butter, cider, egg and vanilla and whisk until smooth.

Step 5Add sugar and whisk until well combined.

Step 6Add flour and baking powder to applesauce mixture. Fold together until smooth.

Step 7Place batter in pan. Smooth top. Sprinkle evenly with reserved cinnamon-sugar.

Step 8Bake 35-40 minutes.

Step 9Cool in pan 10 minutes. Use foil to carefully lift out cake. Cool additional 30 minutes before cutting.
