apple in the middle pancakes
I made these for breakfast this morning...they were a hit. Make sure you slice your apples thin enough to get done. I used Granny Smiths. I loved the tartness against the sweet syrup... Enjoy! My photos

Ingredients
- 2 - tart apples (granny smith), peeled and cored (i peel, slice in rounds, then cut out the center)
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon
- 2 - eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 cups whole wheat or white flour
- 2 1/2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
How To Make apple in the middle pancakes

Step 1Slice the apples into thin rings, toss with cinnamon, and set aside.

Step 2Mix together remaining ingredients until blended.

Step 3For each pancake, pour 1/3 cup batter onto hot griddle. Place 1 apple ring in center of each pancake. When set, flip pancake to cook other side

Step 4Turn onto plate so that apple ring is showing. Serve with warmed syrup
