apple cider french toast
This is something I came up with. Cooking is my therapy so I have FUN in the kitchen! I actually found an artisan apple cider bread at our local market and used that as the basis for the French toase, but I've also made it with a nice plain, crusty Italian bread. Enjoy!

Ingredients
- 2 - eggs
- 1/2 cup milk (1/2 c - 3/4 c)
- 1/2 cup apple cider (1/2 c - 3/4 c)
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 8 slices crusty bread
How To Make apple cider french toast

Step 1Place bread slices in a 9x13 pan or larger; mix remaining ingredients together and pour the mixture over the bread slices. Let sit until all liquid has been soaked up. (I let it sit overnight in the frig.) Cook as usual for French toast.

Step 2For a topping I sliced up 2 granny smith apples and cooked them in butter slightly then poured on a little (1/3-1/2 cup) cider, turned the heat down, and put the lid on, cooking until the apples were soft.
