Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 1 medium bite size pieces of apple; skin on or off
  • 1/4 C cup irish oats or rolled oats
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon fresh finely chopped rosemary or 1/8 tsp. dried; or to taste

How To Make apple, cheddar, rosemary oatmeal

  • Step 1
Melt butter & saute apples in a small pot over medium heat until they start to soften up just a tad; about a minute or two.
  • Step 2
Then add oats & stir around a bit allowing them to get toasty which will create a nuttier depth of flavor. Toast for 2 minutes, stirring frequently & making sure they don't burn (you made need to add a touch more butter).
  • Step 3
Add water. Bring to a boil. Cook the oatmeal mixture according to package directions. Once cooked, take off heat & allow to sit for a minute.
  • Step 4
Stir in cheese & rosemary & enjoy :)
