Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon butter
- 1 medium bite size pieces of apple; skin on or off
- 1/4 C cup irish oats or rolled oats
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon fresh finely chopped rosemary or 1/8 tsp. dried; or to taste
How To Make apple, cheddar, rosemary oatmeal
-
Step 1Melt butter & saute apples in a small pot over medium heat until they start to soften up just a tad; about a minute or two.
-
Step 2Then add oats & stir around a bit allowing them to get toasty which will create a nuttier depth of flavor. Toast for 2 minutes, stirring frequently & making sure they don't burn (you made need to add a touch more butter).
-
Step 3Add water. Bring to a boil. Cook the oatmeal mixture according to package directions. Once cooked, take off heat & allow to sit for a minute.
-
Step 4Stir in cheese & rosemary & enjoy :)
