How to Make TRADITIONAL SCOTCH EGGS

Step-by-Step

  1. First, hard-boil the eggs. Then in individual bowls/dishes, put flour, beaten eggs, and bread crumbs. This makes it easier to dip and roll the Scotch eggs.
  2. Put flour on your hands so the sausage from stick to them. Take enough sausage to roll into a ball that can encase the hard-boiled egg. Dust the gg w/flour first, then wrap the sausage around the egg. Seal the edges together.
  3. Roll the ball in the beaten egg bowl, then roll in breadcrumbs, while the oil is heating in a deep fryer.
  4. When the oil reaches 360 degrees, very gently and carefully, lower the sausage wrapped egg into the oil. Fry for 5-6 minutes or until the sausage turns a golden brown. Remove and cool on paper towels. If you cut the ball in half, you'll see a beautiful hard-boiled egg, surrounded by sausage. It's a very hearty breakfast.
