Ingredients
- 1 pound sausage (i use jimmy dean spicy)
- 6 tablespoons flour
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 2 1/4 cups whole milk
- - salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon paprika, optional
How To Make restaurant style sausage gravy
-
Step 1On medium heat crumble sausage in fry pan, stir often. Cook sausage until brown.
-
Step 2On medium low temperature add flour one tablespoon at a time and whisk. Stir constantly until flour thickens and turns light brown.
-
Step 3When flour mixture is smooth add milk, paprika, and salt and pepper, stir until blended.
-
Step 4You want to let the gravy simmer, but do not boil as this will curdle the milk.
-
Step 5Serve over biscuits of your choice. I use Pillsbury buttermilk biscuits. Enjoy!
