"toaster" strawberry pastry
No toaster is used at all here, but this approach to "toaster strudel" tastes far better than the grocery store brands. Inspired by an article in this month's "Food Network Magazine," I fixed this one this morning with scrambled eggs. Quick, warm and delicious.

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons strawberry - fig preserves
- 2 tablespoons athena greek yogurt - honey & strawberry
- 2 - fresh, ripe strawberries, chopped fine
- 1 - pillsbury refrigerated pie crust
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons milk
How To Make "toaster" strawberry pastry
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
-
Step 2Mix first 3 ingredients together in small bowl.
-
Step 3Cut 2 rectangles (about 3 1/2" x 5" each) out of the pie crust, and discard the remainder.
-
Step 4Spoon the strawberry mixture onto one of the rectangles of dough, careful to spread short of the edges. Place the other rectangle on top and use a fork to seal all 4 sides.
-
Step 5Bake for 20 minutes until golden brown. Cool for 5 minutes, cut and serve.
-
Step 6If you like, mix the confectioners' sugar and milk to make icing to drizzle on top.
