Ingredients
- 1 large loaf french bread
- 8 - eggs
- 3 cups milk
- 3/4 cup sugar, divided
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 5 - apples, peeled, cored and sliced thin
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons butter
How To Make baked apple french toast

Step 1Preheat oven to 400°.

Step 2Spray 9x13-inch pan lightly with oil.

Step 3Slice bread into 1 1/2-inch slices. Place bread lightly together in one pan (one layer). Beat eggs lightly in bowl. Add milk, 1/4 cup sugar, and vanilla; mix with whisk. Pour 1/2 liquid over bread.

Step 4Place apple slices on top of bread. Pour remaining egg mixture over apples.

Step 5Mix 1/2 cup sugar with cinnamon. Sprinkle evenly over apples. Dot with butter. Bake for 35 minutes. Cool 5-10 minutes before serving. Serve with maple syrup.

Step 6Variation: Prepare, cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake next morning for 50 minutes.
