This is my favorite "comfort" food, especially in winter.

Ingredients
- 1 cup quick-cooking grits
- 2 cups water
- 2-3 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1/3 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/3 cup Mexican Blend shredded cheese
- 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning, optional
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
How To Make nana’s cheese & egg grits

Step 1Gather ingredients before beginning. Break eggs into small dish & set aside. Put cheese(s) into small dishes & set aside. Put 2 c water into saucepan, add salt. Place on burner set to med high to bring to a rolling boil.

Step 2Whisk in grits and cook on med until just beginning to boil. Reduce heat and cook for about 5 minutes or just beginning to thicken. Whisk in eggs until whites are cooked.

Step 3Add cheeses and whisk until melted. Remove from heat and serve up immediately. Good with toast or bagels.
