This reminds me of a dish my dad used to make for breakfast when I was a kid. He called it Milk Toast. He would make toast and pour warm milk over it and top it with fried eggs.

  • 1 c
    heavy cream, maybe more
  • 2 lg
    eggs
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 slice
    country bread
  • 1 oz
    soft butter

How To Make cream poached eggs with toast

    Pour the cream into a saucepan and place it over medium heat.

    Break the eggs into a bowl.

    Toast the bread and butter it.

    When the cream is starting to get hot slide the eggs into the cream. Make sure it almost covers the eggs; use more if needed.

    Spoon the cream over the egg yolks while the whites are cooking.

    Once done, place the eggs on a rounded dish. Season with salt and pepper. Pour some of the cream over top and serve with the toast.
