I love french toast and looking for different ways to make it. This is one of my favorites and its simple too.

  • 1 stick
    butter, unsalted
  • 1 c
    brown sugar, light
  • 2 Tbsp
    corn syrup, light
  • 8 slice
    white bread with crusts removed
  • 5
  • 1 1/2 c
    half and half
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 2 tsp
    orange liqueur(optional)

How to Make Caramel Souffle French Toast


  1. Melt butter, brown sugar and cornn syrup in a saucepan over medium heat; stirring until smooth. Pour into a 9"x13" baking dish.
  2. Arrange bread slices in a single layer over sugar mixture.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together remaining ingredients until well combined and pour over the bread. Cover and refrigerate at least 9 hours or over night.
  4. When ready to bake, bring souffle to room temperature and bake in a preheated 350'F oven for 35-40 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
