betty's french onion savoury slice
An almost crustless "quiche" style savoury slice packed with grated veggies and a sachet of French onion soup mix for depth of flavour. This is my youngest son's favourite for lunch, breakfast, or a snack.

- 1 medium onion, chopped as fine as you can
- 4 rindless bacon rashers, diced small (uncooked)

How To Make betty's french onion savoury slice
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 350 F/160 C and grease a 10 x 7 inch tin (30x18 cm lamington style tin).
-
Step 2Grate the veggies. Add them and everything else into a large bowl. Stir and mix well.
-
Step 3Pour into the prepared tin and smooth using the back of a spoon or spatula.
-
Step 4Bake in the oven for 30 - 35 minutes.
-
Step 5Best eaten after resting for 10 minutes to a couple of hours. Store in the fridge. Individual slices can be wrapped, frozen, and added into a lunch box (what my son does) and will thaw out by lunchtime.
