Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 3 - eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • - chocolate shavings for topping
  • - sifted confectioners sugar for topping
  • - fresh fruit for topping

How To Make chocolate brunch waffles

  • Step 1
    In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Step 2
    Microwave chocolate morsels and butter in a medium microwave safe bowl on high heat for 1 minute; stir. Microwave at additional 10-20 second intervals, stirring until smooth. Cool to room temperature.
  • Step 3
    Stir in milk, eggs, and vanilla. Add chocolate mixture to flour mixture; stir (batter will be thick). Cook in a Belgian or standard waffle maker according to manufacturer's directions. Serve warm with your choice of toppings.
