My Mom's tortillas...she learned how to make them when she was very young, we would seat around the table waiting for the very first one, delicious!!! she never measured and always came out perfect, took me a while but I learned, of course....I had to measure everything.
2With fingers work the lard into the flour, then add almost hot water a little at a time, knead dough about 5 minutes, cut and shape into balls all same size (makes 12 or 13 depending the size) cover and let it rest in warm place.
3Cook in griddle, (med high or so) for about1 1/2 minutes then turn being careful not to let it burn, turn one more time until cooked.
Every stove is different, keep you eye on the heat, then place between two paper towels and keep a plastic bag on top to keep from getting hard, let them cool and put in plastic bag and refrigerate.
