Mother Inspired! My mom loves Shrimp & Grits. She always wants me to make them. I don't always have time to make the red eye gravy so one day I stumbled upon a package of Louisiana Cajun gravy and it had a picture of Shrimp & grits on it so I said why not and I made up this recipe. It was a huge hit with my family and the rest is Cajun delicious history.

Ingredients

    shrimp, peeled and deveined
  •   1 c
    instant grits
  •   2 Tbsp
    butter
  •   1/4 c
    shredded cheddar cheese
  •   1 oz
    pepper jack cheese
  •   1 oz
    heavy cream
  •   1
    jalepeno, seeded and diced
  •   1 pkg
    cajun gravy mix

How To Make

  • 1
    Cook the grits according to package instructions. Saute the jalapeno and add to the grits.

    Add butter, cream, cheeses to the grits and simmer 1 mins.
  • 3
    Make the gravy according to package instructions. Add the shrimp and simmer for 10 mins or until the shrimp are cooked thoroughly.

    Place grits in a bowl and top with shrimp and gravy. Enjoy!
