I love to make french toast for breakfast. I like to serve it with maple syrup, butter and berries.

Ingredients

  • 3
    eggs
  • 1 1/4 c
    milk or half and half
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 8 slice
    stale white or cinnamon bread
  • ·
    berries (optional)

How to Make French Toast

Step-by-Step

  1. Beat 3 eggs with the 1 1/4 cups milk. Add the sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a skillet over medium heat. Working in batches, submerge 8 slices of the bread in egg mixture.
  3. Cook until golden brown on both sides, flipping once, about 5 minutes. Serve with maple syrup, butter and berries.
