bacon breakfast gravy
My Mother made this for breakfast often. What a great way to start the day. You can use the gravy recipe for sausage too, just brown it good.

Ingredients
- 4 cups milk
- 1/4 cup plain flour
- 4 tablespoons bacon grease
- 8 slices bacon, cooked
- 2 tablespoons butter
How To Make bacon breakfast gravy

Step 1Cook the bacon and set aside on a paper towel to drain off any grease. Reserve 4 tablespoons of the grease in the frying pan.

Step 2Add the butter to the reserved bacon grease, when they are melted together add 1/4 cup of flour to make a roux. Stir this constantly until it is all incorporated.

Step 3Slowly add the milk to the roux and use a whisk to stir. Stir often to prevent the roux from lumping. Salt and pepper to taste.

Step 4Serve this over biscuits or toast. Crumble bacon over the gravy before serving. If you feel like it is too thick, add more milk. If you think it is too thin, add a mixture of water and corn starch and keep whisking until you get it your favorite way.
