My Mom used to treat us with grapefruit made this way, only I add the addition of cinnamon butter. A delicious way to enjoy a grapefruit.

I use light butter and Splenda brown sugar to cut down on fat and calories. Just as good!

I don't just make these for breakfast. I make them anytime I'm craving grapefruit.

pink grapefruit - halved and sectioned
2 Tbsp
splenda brown sugar or regular brown sugar...more to taste
1 Tbsp
light butter
sprinkles cinnamon
for garnish, optional

How to Make ~ My Oh So Tasty Grapefruit ~


  • 1Turn on broiler.

    Cut your grapefruit, evenly in half.
  • 2With a very sharp knife, go around the inside edge of skin and cut grapefruit loose. Then take knife and cut between membrane of grapefruit sections.
  • 3Mix cinnamon with butter.
  • 4Place halves in an oven safe baking dish.

    Split the butter between the 2 grapefruit halves.Spread as evenly as can.
  • 5Spread 1 tablespoon brown sugar over each halve.
  • 6Place oven rack to second notch from the top.

    Broil for 8 - 10 minutes or until caramelizing and bubbly.
  • 7Place a maraschino cherry in the center if desired. I sliced some banana to place around the edges.
