Ingredients
- - 2 1/2 cups milk or water
- - 1 tsp. salt
- - 1 1/4 cups old fashioned rolled oats
- - 2 large apples
- - 1/2 tsp. apple pie spice
- - honey to serve, optional
How To Make apple spiced oatmeal

Step 1Put milk in pan and bring to boil. Add salt and sprinkle in the oats, stirring continuously.

Step 2Put over low heat and let oats simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 3Meanwhile, peel, halve, core and grate apples. When oatmeal is creamy and most of liquid has evaporated, stir in grated apple and apple pie spice. Spoon into serving bowls and drizzle with honey if using. Tip: stir in 1/2 cup chopped walnuts just before serving for a deliciously crunchy oatmeal.
