My family makes this every Christmas for breakfast. I love it... If you cannot find maple sausage you can add maple syrup to your sausage I would just add alittle bit though.

1 lb
maple or regular sausage (we use maple)
3/4 c
chopped onion
8 slice
cubed white bread
1 1/2 c
cheddar cheese, shredded and divided
1 can(s)
cream of mushroom soup, condensed
2 1/2 c
beaten eggs
3/4 tsp
dry mustard (must be dry mustard)


1Brown sausage and onion. Drain off fat. Combine bread cubes, 1 cups Cheddar Cheese, Mushroom soup, Milk, eggs and Mustard with Sausage mixture. Place in 9x13 pan. Refrigerate overnight.
2Bake covered at 325 for 1 hour. sprinkle remaining 1/2 cups cheese on top and continue to bake 15 min longer.
3**** We have this normally every year Christmas morning but we prepare it the night before and put in fridge, bake in the morning **** or you can have for dinner if you prefer :)
