This is a never fail make ahead breakfast for a larger crowd of just hungry people! :) Very creamy,cheesy and satisfying! Easy to prepare the night before and simply bake in the morning. I have made this many times when overnight guests are expected. Always a hit and super easy to boot!
Original recipe came from a 1993 TV Guide. It was shared by Marilynne Hargrove who's husband is Mike. He was a manager and player in baseball and this is one of his favorites.

Ingredients

1 lb
italian sausage,diced
9
eggs
3 c
milk
1 1/2 tsp
dry mustard
1 1/2 tsp
salt
dash of black pepper
12
slices of bread, crusts removed, cubed
1 1/2 c
shredded cheddar cheese

How to Make Sausage - Egg Bake

Step-by-Step

  • 1Brown sausage in skillet until done. Drain off fat.
  • 2In a large bowl, beat eggs and milk. Add mustard,salt,pepper and bread cubes. Mix well.
    Fold in cooked sausage and cheese.
  • 3Pour into greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
    Let stand covered, in refrigerator overnight.
  • 4Remove from refrigerator 1 hour before baking.
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour.
