Ingredients
- 1 pound ground sausage
- 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
- 1 small green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried marjoram
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed rosemary
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 10 large eggs
- 1 cup milk (whole or 2%)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Pepper Jack cheese
How To Make sausage, egg, and cheese casserole

Step 1Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Step 2Brown the sausage in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 3When the sausage is about halfway browned, add the onion and cook for 2 minutes.

Step 4Add the bell pepper and cook until the onion and bell pepper are soft.

Step 5Reduce the heat to low and add the garlic, thyme, marjoram, rosemary, and red pepper flakes. Stir and cook for 1 minute.

Step 6Add the mixture to the bottom of the prepared casserole dish.

Step 7In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, salt, black pepper, and 1/2 cup of each cheese.

Step 8Pour the egg mixture over the sausage mixture. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese.

Step 9Bake for 35-40 minutes or until lightly browned and set.
