Sausage Breakfast Casserole
- 6 slice
- loaf bread (white or wheat)
- margarine to spread on bread
- 1 lb
- sausage (cooked and crumbled)
- 1 1/2 c
- cheddar cheese (mild or sharp)
- 6 large
- eggs (beaten)
- 2 c
- whole milk
- 1 tsp
Remove crusts from bread. Spread slices of bread with margarine and place in the bottom of the casserole dish.
Spoon cooked and crumbled sausage over the top of the bread.
Sprinkle cheese over the top of sausage layer.
Combine eggs, milk and salt and beat well.
Pour over the top of cheese layer making sure to distribute evenly.
Cover casserole and chill overnight or at least 6-8 hours.
When ready to bake, place uncovered casserole in a 350 degree oven for 45 minutes or until set.
