This is a great recipe for a special Christmas morning brunch. Every time I serve it, I am asked for the recipe.

I got it from the Virtual Cities Internet Cookbook. It is a specialty at a bed and breakfast in Leavenworth, Washington.

golden delicious apples
3/4 c
brown sugar, lightly packed
1 1/2 tsp

How to Make Sausage and Apples Breakfast Casserole


  • 1Brown sausages and peel and slice apples.
  • 2Put one third of sausages in baking dish. Layer with one third of apples. Sprinkle with 1/2 tsp of cinnamon and 1/4 cup brown sugar.
  • 3Repeat layers until you have three layers of sausage and three layers of apples, sprinkling with brown sugar and cinnamon after each layer of apples.
  • 4Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes stirring occasionally.
