We were tailgating at a football game .Everyone brings a dish, so one lady bought a slow cooker or crock pot of ro-tel grits. I've never eaten grits like that, and were good, and now this is one of my family favorites.

Ingredients

  • 1-2 pound velveeta cheese [ your choice]
  • 2 cups girts [ your choice ]
  • 1 can mild ro-tel [ your choice ]
  • 1 pound ground sausage, or turkey
  • 1 stick butter or margarine

How To Make rotel grits

  • Step 1
    Cut cheese into cubes, put in slow cooker on high along with undrained ro-tel.
  • Step 2
    Cook and drain sausage and add to cooker.
  • Step 3
    Cook grits as directed.
  • Step 4
    Once grits are done add butter or margarine.Pour into cooker. Stir and let cheese melt.
