pumpkin pie spiced french toast
This recipe came to me in my sleep! I am currently 8 months pregnant and woke up wanting french toast. Since it is Fall here in NY, I figured I would add the warm flavors of nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove. They came out great, and my daughter who is 1 just couldnt get enough of them! Hope you enjoy them as much as my family did.

Ingredients
- 6 - slices of day old bread (whatever you have on hand )
- 2 - eggs
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground clove
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
How To Make pumpkin pie spiced french toast
-
Step 1In a mixing bowl, combine the eggs, milk, spices, and vanilla.
-
Step 2Once they are all whisked together, add all 6 slices of bread into the bowl. Make sure all of the pieces soak up every last bit of the liquid.
-
Step 3To a greased frying pan, gently brown each slice of bread on each side but not fully cooked through.
-
Step 4Heat the oven to 350, and on a greased baking sheet, place the french toast and cook in oven for about 5 minutes. This will "plump" up the toast to almost cake like texture.
-
Step 5Serve with warm maple syrup and cinnamon butter! *cinnamon butter is just a few tablespoons of butter spinkled and mixed with ground cinnamon*
