When we moved to the south we got introduced to Hashbrown Casserole...especially Cracker Barrels YUM...Found this recipe and we love it thought I would share. Just adds a whole different dimension to the casserole. We make this every christmas morning.

Ingredients
- 2 pounds country sausage (jimmy dean or any other brand similar)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (i like using sharp)
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 8 ounces premade french onion dip
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup each of red/green bell peppers chopped
- teaspoon salt and pepper
- 30 ounces frozen hash brown shredded potatoes thawed

Step 1IN a skillet cooked sausage until browned and cooked through...Drain

Step 2In a large bowl combine all the ingredients and mix well till all is incorporated. Poor into greased 9x13 pan spread into even layer. Bake at 350 for 1 hour or until casserole is golden brown and bubbly.

Step 3Sometimes I dot the casserole with a few pieces of butter before baking...This step is not necessary. I just like butter!
