Ingredients
- 8 large eggs
- 2½ cups milk
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- ¼ cup green or sweet onion, diced
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 pound sausage, browned and crumbled
- 6 slices sandwich bread, cubed
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- ¼-½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 dash nutmeg
How To Make grandma's breakfast bake

Step 1Grease a 9x13 baking dish and mix the bread cubes, peppers, onion and sausage in the baking dish.

Step 2In a medium mixing bowl mix the eggs, milk and spices.

Step 3Pour egg mixture over the bread and sausage mixture.

Step 4Top with cheese.

Step 5Can be made the night ahead, just cover tightly and refrigerate. Pull out from fridge about 30 minutes before baking.

Step 6Bake at 350 for 35-45 minutes or until the top if golden brown and the center reaches an internal temperature of 160°F.
