Ingredients

  • 1 cup uncooked grits (cook per pkg directions)
  • 1 pound high quality pork sausage
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 cup diced celery (opt)
  • 1 can 10 oz. cream of chicken soup-undiluted
  • 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese
  • - salt and pepper to taste

How To Make george's funky grits

  • Step 1
    Brown sausage and drain well
  • Step 2
    Mix in onion, green pepper and celery. Saute until tender.
  • Step 3
    Mix with cooked grits,soup and cheese.
  • Step 4
    Place in crockpot to keep warm
  • Step 5
    For shrimp grits leave out the sausage and add raw shrimp as last step, cooking only till shrimp turns pink.
  • Step 6
    Left overs can be heat in micro oven.
  • Step 7
    A large crockpot will hold a double recipe
