Ingredients

  • 1 loaf - french bread, cut into 1" cubes (about 10 c.)
  • 8 large eggs
  • 3 cups milk
  • 4 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • TOPPING:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • - maple syrup

How To Make french toast casserole

  • Step 1
    Place bread cubes in a greased 13" x 9" x 2" baking dish. In a mixing bowl, beat eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla & salt. Pour over bread. Cover & refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
  • Step 2
    Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Dot with butter. Combine sugar & cinnamon; sprinkle over the top.
  • Step 3
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Step 4
    Cover & bake for 45 - 50 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Let stand for 5 minutes. Serve with syrup if desired.
